Today's top ten is brought to you by the letters G and G! Yes! Yes! Yes!
Trying to "favorite" anything about Gilmore Girls is like Sophie's choice....but I am eager to give it a try.
I have wasted many a breath trying to defend this brilliant gem of a television series, to no avail. The people who give me the most difficult time-MEN! Yes, you, boys! They hear the word "girl" in the title and their brains shut down immediately. Granted, there are a few men who LOVE the series...Kevin Wulff and Michael Hyche (sorry I outed y'all)...but they are both very cerebral and I have always argued only REALLY smart men "get" Gilmore Girls.
Anyhow...here is yet another feeble attempt to impress the male gender by highlighting some of the amazing guest stars who appeared over the seven seasons.
In no particular order...here are my top ten!
1) Jon Hamm. Oh yes, Donald Draper himself played Peyton Sanders who took Lorelai out for dinner. She really had a bad time on the date. All he talked about was his sports car and wine and how much money he made. Whatever, he's hot and again, he's Don Draper.
2) Alex Borstein. She appears in MANY incarnations. Most notably Drella the harp player in season one and Miss Celine...Emily's personal shopper and stylist who will NEVER die and constantly drops names. In real life she is married to a man named Jackson Douglas who plays Jackson Bellville on Gilmore Girls for all seven seasons.
3) Christiane Amanpour. She plays herself in the last episode which is so very cool because the entire series...that is THE one person Rory wanted to be. Funny...I just want to be Lorelai.
4) Madeline Albright. Yes, our first female Secretary of State deigned to appear on Gilmore Girls. She comes to Rory in a dream and re-enacts a very poignant scene from several seasons before. And quite a talent she is, might I add.
6) Seth McFarlane He appears in season three during the episode where Lorelai graduates from business school. His character is poor, judgy and in a really bad mood. Anyone noticing all the Family Guy cross overs? The creator of Gilmore Girls, Amy Sherman Palladino is married to Daniel Palladino who wrote/writes for both series.
7) Senator Barbara Boxer. Wow! Really? Yes! I love when politicians don't take themselves too seriously.
8) Traci Lords. OH MY GOD! An ex porn star turned legit actress! She is gorgeous AND can actually really act. Remember Cry Baby?
9) Sherilyn Fenn. Ahhh! I have loved her since Three of Hearts! She plays Jess' somewhat step mom and then again as April's mom...who was not terribly nice. But I love her and I think she is gorgeous.
I loved gilmore girls! I watched every episode and even watched the reruns. I loved there mother daughter bond so much! :)
ReplyDeleteI watch a rerun every day....seriously! I LOVE them! Glad you enjoyed the show, as well!
